Nicely done.

This is quite nice, certainly the best out of your three submissions. Keep up the good work :D

OPQC responds:

yep, but i stopped making these... i think i sometimes make an another one again.

Well done.

It's very well done, but the panning is a little off. All of the instruments are coming from the left, you should spread them out to increase that "surrounded by jungle" feeling. Other than that, it has great composition and amazing instrumentation. Another musical home run for he Maestro!

MaestroRage responds:

is it?! I didn't notice any panning extremes. I will have to open the file and see if really somebody is sending something to the far left.

Thanks for the heads up and the review, i'm glad you liked it!

Nice.

I agree, the vocal at 1:20 is a little out of place, but other than that it's a solid trance song.

Backslashed responds:

Yeah i agree, it's out of sync.
Just if i had the original file...

I like it. Simple and calming.

This is a nice nice, simple, calming loop. I like it. You might want to consider making the drops a little less piercing if you're going to edit this. Otherwise, nice job :)

Gnydsmelt responds:

allright, cheers man!

Well...

Well, this is a very crowded song. It's full of very piercing noises, so it is a little hard on the ears. Not really all that sad either. This could become a good song, but I think that you need to... devolve it a little. Simple would be better in this case. In summary: good idea, bad instrumentation.

kjhf responds:

As I said below, the piercing is intentional, hitting just where the woman is "Calling out." And that a Halloween piece can be still sorrowful.
Hmm, maybe I did overdo the layers on it however.

Great idea, but has a few flaws.

It's an interesting idea, but there are three things that I don't like about it.

1. The piano sounds like it is being played by the computer. You need to hide the "computerized" feel of it by making the notes a little longer or adding more reverb.

2. The song sounds somewhat empty. You should add a couple more instruments. Another idea would be to take two pianos, have one play the low notes and one play the high notes. Make the low piano sound rich and meaty (kind of like it does already), and have the high one sound barren and thin (achieved by correct reverb settings). The effect of this can be increased by having slight variations in the pan of the two pianos.

3. There are many areas in which the harmony is lost, and it just sounds like somebody is slamming as many fingers as they can fit on the piano.

Other than that, I really like the song. Especially the little sequence between 2:17 and 2:26. That was masterful. In fact, I would kind of like to see the midi for this, I might be able to work out a few of it's problems. Nice work!

kjhf responds:

Hi!
Yeah, I forgot to change the reverb and volume settings on this :/
This is the piano only version, and so contains - piano only :P However, the next version is nearly done, and I'll probably add in a second piano.
Help would be much appreciated

It sounds like a heavily reverbed guitar, or a heavily distorted piano, or maybe a combination of the two.

Mo-Tech responds:

Actually, it's a Persian santoor... basically a hammered dulcimer.

Close... they all have strings right? :)

This is amazing!

I've been looking through the classical submissions and I've been quite shocked at some of the piano pieces. This has got to be one of the best, especially if you were playing from memory. As for myself, I always play from memory, I never even learned sheet music. But this, this would be far beyond my skills. You might want to think of investing in a program like Reason or FL Studio, because you would be able to record through midi and fix your mistakes, as well as add more tracks. 5/5

ismiller responds:

Thanks for the review! I own FL Studio, but I love using my grand piano. Also, most of this isn't just from memory, it's made up as I go along, like a jazz solo. I might go back and re-record parts to get them perfect.

Improved

Really nice loop, I could see this used in a game! You might want to change the pan a little.

kjhf responds:

If I do an upgrade, then yes. :D

Well Done!

This wasn't my favorite song to begin with, but this is still a pretty solid remix! Keep up the good work!

DJ-Infinity responds:

Will do! Thanks XD
